Classes

Virginia Book Arts offers a variety of classes that provide hands-on experiences and exposure to new skills, equipment and techniques. Our small class sizes provide exceptional attention and practical opportunities as our experienced instructors balance demonstration, work time, and group sharing. We foster the love for book arts and welcome all backgrounds and skill levels to join our classes and workshops.

Starting in 2026 we will reintroduce our Second Saturday Series, which offers fun and affordable workshops, focusing on a specific topic or technique. These classes are great introductions to a variety of book art skills.

When registering for a class all students agree that they’ve read and agree to our registration & safety policies.

All classes are held at our studio at 600 E. Water Street, Suite F, Charlottesville, VA 22902, unless otherwise noted. Parking is available on adjacent streets, or in one of two parking garages nearby. For longer classes, please bring lunch or a snack. Wear casual, comfortable clothes and shoes. The cost for each class is listed with the class description, VBA members will receive a 15% discount.

Cancellation 7 days or more before the day of the class will receive a full refund. Cancellations less than 7 days but more than 48 hours before the start date of a class will result in a 50% refund. There is no refund if you cancel less than 48 hours before the class. If VBA cancels a class due to instructor illness, inclement weather, or insufficient enrollment you will receive a full refund.
