Letterpress Review Workshop No 2

Have you taken multiple letterpress classes and printed with assistance on the Vandercook in the past, but don’t quite have the experience and confidence to print on your own? I’m here to help!
This is one of at least 4 workshops on the Manual Universal Vandercook letterpress so that you gain experience toward using the press unsupervised and help others with basic print runs.
We will be reviewing press safety, parts and mechanism of the Vandercook, good press habits, inking the press, proofing, printing an edition, cleaning the press, troubleshooting and general shop caretaking.
Workshops will focus on printing polymer, wood type, and lead type. This workshop will focus on lead type. In order to gain the experience needed, you should try to attend more than one workshop in this series.
General understanding and some prior experience with letterpress printing is required. Tools and materials are provided. Please bring a bag lunch.
