Introduction to Paper Making

In this introductory class you will learn to make paper that incorporates recycled papers, flowers and other fibers. You will bring home several sheets made in class, and we will construct a simple pamphlet book with pre-made paper similar to the ones you will create. You will learn the basics of paper making, how to make paper pulp and how to use paper making tools.
We will gather at Erica’s home to have room to spread out and have easy access to water. Feel free to bring materials from home such as yarn, egg cartons, or colored paper. Petals or leaves from your own garden can work for inclusions. We will explore, have fun, and see what turns out.
Please note: This class will be held at the instructor’s home in Charlottesville, not at VBA. Prior to the class, you will receive an email that contains the address of the workshop.
Please bring a bag lunch/snack. Class fee includes $10 materials cost.
