This structure is based on a medieval temporary binding structure, which protected the text block before the full leather binding was added. It uses no glue, is flexible, and can accept added signatures at a later time. We will first sew a text block with signatures, using the French link stitch. We will then prepare the “laces” and the cover.
All materials and tools are provided. The class fee includes $10 for material costs. Bring lunch/snack (microwave available; drinks only in bottles or lidded cups).
